Description
Acrylic painted on my hand. The background is actually a shirt.
A hamsa (also called a Hamesh hand, Hand of Fatima, Hand of Miriam) is an ancient protective symbol used mainly by Jews and Muslims. The eye in the center is meant to ward off the "evil eye". This design is loosely based on a pendant, with a few extra symbols I added which include a peace sign, triquetra, celtic cross, ankh, and Hebrew Chai (Life) symbol.
A picture of the pendant can be found here: [link]
